Ginny Weds Sunny – A Bollywood Movie Review

Ginny Weds Sunny is a Bollywood movie that was recently released on Netflix starring Vikrant Massey, Yami Gautam & Ayesha Raza. At Entertainment’s Saga, we watched the new movie on Netflix, and we’re here to help you figure out if it’s worth the watch.

The Story

The Netflix original movie is a typical Bollywood movie that is completely predictable. The movie starts off with the female lead, Ginny (Yami Gautam) being in a quite confusing relationship with Nishant Rathee (Suhail Nayyar). While Nishant is clearly not looking for something serious, Ginny is hoping that he will eventually agree to get married down the road.

On the other hand, Ginny’s mother, Shobha (Ayesha Raza Mishra) runs a marriage bureau and is desperate to get her daughter married. Shobha, unlike her daughter, is aware of the fact that Nishant is likely not going to marry her daughter.

Keeping in mind that Ginny turns down practically every boy Shobha makes her meet, Shobha comes up with a plan. She helps Sunny Malhotra (Vikrant Massey) make Ginny fall in love with him.

The movie has a decent number of twists and turns as Ginny tries to come to reality about the two men in her life.

Netflix Movie Review

I went into the movie with zero expectations since I had not seen a lot of the previous work of a majority of the star cast. But, the movie turned out to be decent if you’re looking for killing some time.

When it comes to the storyline, there is nothing that really stands out in the movie. But, there were two things I did like about the movie. The first was Ayesha Raza’s acting. The second thing was the confusion of Yami Gautam’s character. It portrayed the confusion of a millennial girl in a genuine and realistic manner. At times, I feel that in order to make movies entertaining, the directors and writers make the characters a little unrealistic. But, that was not the case of Yami Gautam’s character, Ginny Gill.
