Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla moved to Delhi High Court to raise her voice against the 5G technology in India. As per a report by The Hindu, “The actor seeks study on any adverse effects of radiation emitted by cellular telecom on health before the rollout.”
About 5G Technology in India
In the 5G network, it will provide higher bandwidth and lower latency than 4G in India. Because of this, users will be able to get up to 10 Gbps speed, which is a massive improvement from the 100 Mbps that 4G offers. But, actress Juhi Chawla, along with Veeresh Malik and Teena Vachani, are challenging the adverse side effects of this service.
What Does Juhi Chawla’s Plea Say?
Basically, the cellular communications used by the 5G network will require radio-frequency radiation. In other countries such as Belgium, the rollout of 5G technology was actually paused down in 2019 due to studies which showcased the negative effects on life due to it.
Keeping this in mind, the plea by Juhi Chawla – which was filed via advocate Deepak Khosla – is a request to conduct a study on the effect 5G technology in India will have on ‘health, life, organ or limb of adult or child, or to flora and fauna’. The petition will be taken up on June 2nd, 2021.
