TikTok is a video sharing social media app that was a widely used platform by millions of people around the world. The application is owned by a China – based company called ByteDance. Recently, India banned the Chinese app after some political tensions between the two countries. This came along the ban of other apps which are owned by Chinese based companies.
Soon later, the US starts speculating banning the app in the country. Keeping this in mind, TikTok files a case against the US government. In fact, in a formal statement, the company said, “We do not take suing the government lightly; however, we feel we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights, and the rights of our community and employees,” the company said in its suit. “Our more than 1,500 employees across the U.S. pour their hearts into building this platform every day.” At the moment, the White House and the Department of Justice have declined to answer any questions on the subject.
