Kangana is actress who has always spoken openly about the malpractices she has experienced in the industry. A couple of the things that Kangana Ranaut has stood up for within the Indian cinema industry is the nepotism in Bollywood and unfairness that takes place. She mentioned in the post “I’ve banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year…” The reason why Filmfare wants the Bollywood actress there is because they want to give her an award for the movie, Thalaivii. In her Instagram post, Kangana mentioned that she is “shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare … thanks.”
Meanwhile, Kangana is nominated for Best Actress in a leading role this year for her movie Thalaivii. Other nominees include Tapsee Pannu, Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, and Vidya Balan.
On the other hand, Filmfare has denied all of Kangana’s allegations and in a statement informed about revoking the actress’s nomination in the Best Actress category.
The actress had also raised her voice for boycotting the Oscars and Grammys. The reason behind this was that they did not pay In Memorium tributes to the legend, Lata Mangeshkar. On her Instagram account, she urged everyone to totally boycott the western awards for ignoring legendary artists due to their race or ideologies.
