On Mother’s Day (May 10th), Poonam Pandey was found roaming around on Marine Drive in Mumbai. She was in the area with a friend in her high-end car.
Why was an FIR lodged against Poonam Pandey?
At the moment, there is a lockdown in place across India. The aim of this lockdown is to control the spread of the coronavirus. That is why, it is important that people do not leave their house for things that are not a part of essentials. An example of what counts as an essential task is buying groceries or medical supplies.
Amidst this, model-actress Poonam Pandey was found roaming near Marine Drive. There was no particular reason for this drive with her friend. Keeping in mind the health threat, the actress and her friend have been “booked by Mumbai Police for violating the coronavirus-induced lockdown norms,” says The Indian Express.
Senior police inspector Mrityunjay Hiremath told PTI – “A case has been registered against Pandey and Sam Ahmad Bombay (46) under sections 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of a disease dangerous to life) and 188 (Disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under provisions of the National Disaster Act.”
